Implications of Disruptions on Industry ~ Impact of the disruption on supply chain management ~
Over recent years, business has been exposed to a number of disruptions that have required rapid decisions. Notable disruptions are Brexit, COVID-19 and the Ukraine war. For all these disruptions, business was required to adopt itself to a new reality quickly and unforeseen implications were encountered.
In our discussions with our clients, we have discussed the implications of such disruptions on their supply chain management from various angles. At the seminar, we shall share our insights obtained through these discussions. From an operational perspective, Johan Smits from KPMG Advisory shall discuss the topics that have been top priority with his clients and how clients have dealt with these. On the tax implications, Jaap Reyneveld shall provide thoughts on how these disruptions have impacted the tax structuring of the supply chain management. As a second tax topic, Leon Kanters shall share his deep understanding on how customs duties have an impact on changes to be made for the supply chain.
As a next topic, KPMG will describe the details of the recently published agenda for tax policy and implementation. This agenda is a guiding document for the tax plans to be announced at Prinsjesdag – Budget Day – on the 3rd Tuesday of September and provides for an early update on anticipated legislation.
As a closing topic, we are pleased to announce that Sakuma-san from WE-FLOW, a Leadership and Organizational Development Company based in Amsterdam, will introduce the typical challenges companies are facing in relation to the employee management under the new working style after COVID-19 pandemic. Sakuma-san will present a new way of working that enhances performance by employees using their “awareness-based social technology” and share insights on how this operates in a Japanese business environment.
